PillowDear raises over $35k for charity

Quiet week, new schedule.

Welcome to another edition of A Week in VT, on a Monday! Let's try this new schedule, I might still write posts on Sundays but they would be scheduled for Monday from now on.

Anyway, this week felt quiet to me. So this will be a short one.

PillowDear and friends' charity event was a success

Self-titled "Wife" PillowDear (according to her Twitter banner) held her charity event, "Best Friends Fur-Ever", trying to raise money for the Best Friends Animal Society (BFAS) on September 14th, 2025.

"Huge charity fundraiser for homeless puppies and kitties!"

The event mobilized 40 VTubers for 8 hours of content and raised a total of $35,315 USD, beating the original total goal of $25k.

Various milestones were set with rewards like picking Pillow's Twitter header, guaranteeing streams from Pillow or other participants, letting chat name a foster cat, a PillowDear animal-themed mascot, and at $25k Pillow will vlog her visit to a BFAS animal sanctuary.

"Today I hosted my first ever charity event, and somehow all goals were completely shot out of the ballpark!"

The stream started with a small introductory chat, followed by an interview with BFAS, and then headed into collabs. Those include some chatting, karaoke, sharing cute pics of pets, playing an animal memory game, doing animal trivia, and a concert from Phoebe Chan, Hiyori Mokami, and Nini Yuuna.

(I usually ignore Bondlive-related stuff, but she was considered the "face" of it, and it now concerns other VTubers.) (@bondliver_en / @nyemerachimera)

  • Shirakami Fubuki and Tsunomaki Watame (both of hololive) will voice characters in the upcoming game Etrange Overlord, with Watame also singing the theme song.
